Chennai firm’s Diwali gift to employees: Cars, two-wheelers worth Rs 3.5 crore

Diwali came early for some of the employees of a firm in Chennai. As a gesture of appreciating their work, a structural design company in the city presented its employees with cars and bikes worth Rs 3.5 crore for Ayudha Pooja.
About 30 well-performing employees of the firm, called Team Detailing Solutions, were given cars such as Innova, Exter, Creta, i20, Mercedes Benz, Brezza and Ertiga.
Owner of the company, Sridhar Kannan celebrated ‘Ayudha pooja’, the south-Indian festival that falls on the ninth day of Navaratris before Dussehra, gave away 28 cars and 29 scooters as gifts to some of its veteran employees.
Those working with the company for more than nine years were presented with cars, while those working for more than seven years were gifted two-wheeler by Kannan at a private event. For the big surprise, Kannan invited the employees and their families to the private property in ECR and then presented them with the vehicles.
According to him, the company started in 2005 with just four employees and had grown to 180 workers at two sites.
“So far we have gifted 30 employees with cars and 74 workers with two-wheelers. All those working here are from rural backgrounds. Their lives have been uplifted and we want to improve their standard of living by giving them bikes and cars. They have travelled with me for several years and I wanted to take care of them. They trusted me and the company,” Kannan said.
He also stated that his employees are also provided assistance during their marriage by giving them Rs 50,000 as a marriage incentive, which has been increased to Rs 1 lakh from this year.
“It was a surprise for them and we converted the budget for 28 employees. They are all proud as their work has been appreciated,” stated Kannan.
